your blog emails me when there in a BI article posted.. how do i get the Rittman Mead to do that?

I don’t think it’s directly possible, because of how the blog is hosted.
You could use an RSS-Email tool though, such as http://www.feedmyinbox.com/ (no idea if it works, just picked it off the top of Google) and subscribe to the Rittman Mead RSS feed here: http://www.rittmanmead.com/feed/
